  • The importance of appropriate infant feeding and the vital role played by breastfeeding in child survival, growth and development are well known. Breastfeeding helps to protect the infant against some of the major causes of childhood morbidity and mortality.

Fast, efficient Nonstress testing available

Nonstress testing:

This test is called a nonstress test. It is an invasive test to see how your baby is generally doing. It helps the healthcare team assess your baby’s heart which depicts fetal well being. It tells us if your baby is getting enough oxygen which is very important for the development of your baby’s organs and tissues.

  • Using a moisturizer can help soften your skin and reduce itchiness. Most stretch marks should fade on their own after you deliver.

Cramps in legs:

During the second trimester, you might feel muscles in your legs contract and cramp. This occurs mostly at night. What’s causing them is unknown. Before you go to bed, try to stretch your leg muscles to stop cramps, get daily exercise, eat magnesium-rich foods such as beans or whole grains, drink plenty of water, get the recommended amount of calcium, and wear comfortable shoes. Quickening:

At the second trimester (20 weeks),  you may actually feel your little star moving. Congestion can be relieved by saline drops or a saline rinse. To help moisten the skin, drink plenty of water, use a humidifier, and dab petroleum jelly around the edges of your nostrils. Saline nose drops can also help.

Dental problems:

Did you know pregnancy can increase the sensitivity of your gums to flossing and brushing, resulting in minor bleeding. Irritation can be minimized by rinsing with salt water and moving to a smoother toothbrush. Your tooth enamel may also be compromised by excessive vomiting, making you more vulnerable to cavities. During pregnancy, make sure to keep up your dental treatment.

Dizziness:

Pregnancy activates movement changes that could make you woozy. Drink plenty of water if you’re having problems with dizziness- 2 glasses or more right away, stop standing for long periods, and step gently when you get up or change position. Lie down on your left side while you are feeling dizzy.
